Can anyone give feedback on my Personal Statement

Hello everyone,
I am currently in the process of applying to AA school and was seeing if I could get feedback on my personal statement. There really isn't an AA site to post on and SDN seems kinds rude at times, so I figured I'd try here.

Don't see any statement listed here, so is this an intentional troll post?

Also peculiar you would post in a CRNA forum as you likely know AA's directly compete with nurse anesthesia in the workforce and are not seen favorably.

Was going to PM it to people who were willing. Not a troll post at all. I know some people may be hostile to helping me since there is competition; however, I was hoping some people wouldnt mind helping. But, is it really that much of a competition when its like 250k crnas to like 10 k AA

Are you an RN? Even if you aren't an RN you need to do some research. AA programs are expensive and many AAs wish they were CRNAs. Why? Because AA opportunities are limited to only working supervised by a physician anesthesiologist. And AAs can't work in the majority of states. Do you know what the fastest growing practice type is? CRNAs working independently with physician anesthesiologist. The medical supervision model which AAs are tied too is just too expensive to be sustained long term. While the CRNA route may be longer the long term payoff is worth it. You do need to have a good GPA. Is that an issue?

First off, thank you for your reply. I've done a good bit of research on it and I know I will have state restrictions on me, which is the only turn off for me. All of the shadowing I've done were with either solo MD anes or in a ACT setup(ie the crna did the legwork and the anesthesiologist would actually come in and push the drugs). I am not a RN. I am an older premed that finished all the prereqs, but I actually prefer the idea of working under somonee. I've been in a management capacity for a while, and its not really for me. My GPA is fine. It's a 3.75 and 3.85 sGPA.

What is your age? I teach CRNA students and many are second career and 'older'.

Are you familiar with accelerated BSN programs? With your background and 1 intense year you can be an RN. Then you get a couple years of patient care experience where you will learn an unbelievable amount. The learning curve for the first couple of years in an ICU is straight up. I enjoyed it immensely. You'll be paid well, especially if you work OT, which you should. The time will fly!

Then when you start an anesthesia program you have a solid basis to build on. Right now you like the idea of having someone to rely on in the OR, but once you have a solid knowledge base you'll realize that you're capable of excellent decision making. And you will have so many more opportunities. The extra time is worth it, and you'll have fun along the way.

Lord have mercy! You a baby :) I am appling to nurse anesthesia programs and I am a decade older. I started my nursing prereqs at 34.... And YES to everything loveanesthesia said!
