can anyone give me some advise on choosing a RN school????

Hi, everyone,

i am a new user to this site. i am very happy to find so many different information from so many experienced people.

i have some questions about RN school in NJ. can someone help me on choosing a right RN school?

i would like to try to enroll to Fall, 2005 for RN program. i know that there are so many schools with waiting list....i do not know which is the right school for me?

because i am transfering from Kean University to other colleges for the 2 years RN program, i want to know if there is any classes i need to take before applying the RN program?

please help me on this!!!! i am really confused now.......

I attend Raritan Valley Community College, and I have to tell you I've been on the wait list for almost 2 years! At RVCC, you must complete Anatomy+Phy I&II and have a certain level of math skills....I believe algebra....but you can test out as well...An applicant must also live in Somerset or Hunterdon County.

Most NJ schools require completion of A&P I&II before you're cleared for a spot in Nursing clinicals...If you really want to become a Nurse, start applying NOW!

I know RVCC has met their quota for the Fall 2005 class...

Have you tried your local community college? I also read somewhere on this forum Essex County College doesn't have a wait list...Good Luck!

i was wondering if A&P I,II are same as Human A&P.......

if i take Human A&P, will that help me get into the RN school?

RVCC offers Human Biology, but it's just an intro to human anatomy. Anatomy and Physiology I&II are more in depth when it comes to the structure and functions of the body. A8P I,II is 99.9% the course required for a nursing student.

I also know there are a few hospital diploma programs. Check them out as well.

Hi Ladies:)

I have a ? for both of you. Did you take the NET recently? How hard was the math section? I really suck at math and I'm really nervous about that section. How many math ?'s were there? Did you take it on a computer? Were calculators allowed?

Hi, first off good luck. Second.. most colleges want A&P I&II, microbiology, intro chem, a basic math, and a humanity elective. I would call the schools you are looking at and find out EXACTLY what their program requires.... Make SURE the college you choose is accredited by the NLN first!!!! Best of luck it is an amazing journey! You will meet wonderful friends for life too!
