Where is the study that suggests that there is not a difference of provider competency when you have an NP with no RN background, versus NP with RN background?
I'm trying to do my research on this subject, but would like to look at data, thank you. I've tried googling, but cannot seem to find this information, maybe I just don't have the magic touch the computer is looking for either.

when I was in graduate school this was the study referred to most often. NPs performed on par or better in all categories evaluated. There may be more updated ones. What is this research for? Usually Google is not the best way to find research articles unless you are referring to google scholar.

The OP is asking about research comparing outcomes of NPs with previous RN experience vs. NPs without RN experience, not NPs vs. MDs. I don't see anything in the article you linked about prior RN experience of the NPs.
However, I agree with you that Google is not really a good tool for a serious academic or clinical lit search.
Skimmed too quick and misread. Never heard anything on the actual topic at hand.
