Just one month a way, I was asked to create standing orders for our day camp. I have nothing!!
Will anybody be willing to share theirs with me??
Thank you in advance for any help.

That's a broad request. Standing orders for....everything?
Yes, I guess it's pretty broad. Need to create camp nurse standing orders. Everything from abdominal pain...to I don't know snake bites. Just was wondering if anybody else was in the same position or has something to share with me.
I would think allergic reactions would be a big one too. Sorry, I'm not a camp nurse. Was just trying to narrow your request so you might get more responses. Hope you hear from some camp nurses!

Well I think your really over thinking this. Some basic standing orders for pain, indigestion, allergy emergency, asthma exacerbation, constipation ect should be all you need.
Snake bites and abdominal pain are beyond your capacities at camp, send them out or get the physician on the phone to consult. It's a health center not a hospital.
Generally most physicals that the campers get have a section for their home physician to select OTC medications the camper may have on a prn basis, if this is the case then your physican may not even want to write standing orders around those drugs, as the home doctor has taken care of it.
Get an an order for stock albuterol and rent a nebulizer. Get an order and parameters for stock epi and buy an epi pen.
We don't really use standing orders at my camp but I think I can scare up some treatment guidelines. I don't know if it will help you, but I couldn't hurt.

I would start with a school nurse protocol book - don't reinvent the wheel: Mosby's Pediatric Clinical Advisor, something on those lines. In other words there are protocol books out there - may try a good medical book store to find exactly what you want/need and they go system by system. Other areas would include medication guidelines like must be in original container and not expired. Does the parent want epi pen or inhaler near camper at all times or available as needed (with you).

While this is a bit late, for posterity's sake I'll throw in my two cents:
My suggestion is to look at local EMS protocols and copy some of the likely ones, altering them to fit your non-transport setting, and then have a catch-all section that goes, "Check for fever, if fever over x degrees x, y, or z conditions are noted, call camp physician, otherwise can administer OTC formulary meds as directed on container"
