Is on-call staffing also a job of LVN's?

i work regularly at 6-2 shift and DON scheduled me to be on call weekend. If someone call-in- sick,i have to call somebody to work.

That doesn't sound right. Usually when somebody is on call, that means if somebody calls in sick and they call you, you are the one who goes in to work. You better talk to your supervisor or the DON and find out for certain what your responsibility is. You don't want to get into trouble.

You are notified of any on call requirements when you take a job. You can take a job without being on call for the weekends or other days. Or you can have set on call responsibilities. It comes with the specific job when you are hired.
