California State University, Bakersfield (CSUB) Fall 2023

Published

Can't find a fall 2023 forum, so I am creating one here, for updates and stuff.

Have you heard back yet?

I haven't heard back yet :(
I'm so nervous. Do u guys mind sharing your stats?

Hi Ai. Here are my stats:

3.78 science GPA, 3.87 overall,  78% on the TEAS exam, not local, and no healthcare experience. I don't have much going for me to be honest LOL

Hey Yasmine. It's okay my stats are similar to yours. 3.7GPA and 79.3 on my TEAS. I'm also not local but I have healthcare experience. I work as a dental assistant so I'm not really sure if that counts :((

Hopefully we get in! Good luck!

Thank you! This is a quote from the csub website: "Paid Healthcare Experience (current healthcare licensure and/or work experience - 6 months consecutive healthcare employment within last 5 years with current licensure/certification).”

As long as you're certified, it should count. Good luck to you as well! ?

Specializes in pre-nursing student.

I applied also but my stats are trash so I am prob not gunna get in, anyone know when decisions come out. This is the only CSU taking this long to let me know.

Hey guys!! I am a current CSUB Nursing student and just wanted to let you guys know that you guys got this and don't be discouraged!!

Do you think I'll have a chance with my stats ?

Hey! I honestly don't know it depends on your applicant pool but I can tell you my stats. I had a 3.9 overal GPA (my science one was definitely lower but I don't remember it), 79.3% on my TEAS, was local, but had no healthcare experience. Good luck!!

These are the stats of the past years if that helps.

Hey guys, I'm in the same boat as everyone and just waiting to hear back from CSUB, but I wanted to chime in.

I have a lot of friends who graduated from the program and from my understanding is they don't put a lot of weight on work experiences.  I'm sure it does help but a lot of their students in the past were undergrad students who haven't had medical work experience yet or any job at all. They care more about grades and TEAS scores.

Of course I could be wrong. This is just what I heard from the students I knew in the program. But don't be discouraged just because you don't have healthcare experience!
