Student Nurse looking for info about hospitals in North Cali area

U.S.A. California

Published

Hi, I am a student nurse from Hawaii. I'll be graduating in May and am considering moving to Sacramento, CA. Does anyone know of hospitals there that have new nurse grad training programs?

Any advice would be great! Thank you much!!! :)

Sacramento has a nursing shortage. Every hospital in the area that I know of has a new grad program. Sutter is especially aggresive in recruiting new grads. You should have no problem finding a job in Sac. Good luck with the move.

Thanks for the info . I checked out Sutter Medical Center, and the nurse recruiter has already contacted me with info. The pay for a new nurse grad is great compared to here on the Big Island (Hawaii), and the sign on bonus is $2500 for full time position. Things are looking hopeful :) .

There are four hospital systems in Sacramento. Check them all out, Kaiser, Mercy, Sutter and UCDavis. Each system is supportive of new grads.

I am in an org called CNSA (Ca Nursing Students' Assn.) and we just threw a health / career fair at CSU Fresno. One of the vendors was named Jim Lanas and he runs some kind of deal where he sets you up with points of contact at any type of facility in the state.
