I wanted to start a thread on the Sharp New Grad Program in San Diego that opened for apps today. Best of luck to all that applied!

No, they didn't say how many and I didn't ask either.
Thank you :)
Good luck! Hope we hear good news soon!

Thank you, sweets. I will keep motivating you. Not leaving our snowballs! :)
Congrats, what kind of unit will you be working on? I was wondering if you could share some background info (GPA, experience, CA resident?, etc...) Anything else that may be helpful. I am graduating in May from a BSN program (out of state and I am not a CA resident), but I am thinking about applying for the next round.
Yes Sharp Memorial New grad Residency, making calls this week. You should hear by the 4th. Good luck!

I'll be in a residency rotation through three or four units before applying for a specific unit.
My GPA was only a 3.26 because of bad decisions when I was 17 years old. I busted my butt for the past 5 years to bring it up to that level, and had a high GPA during those years. Most hospitals here don't look at GPA at all. I think Stanford and San Francisco were the only two that even asked.
I have worked as a nursing assistant for almost two years and worked in a mental health facility before that, briefly. I was born and raised in San Diego. I have two Associate Degrees (in Spanish and Exercise Science) plus my BSN. I took my NCLEX almost immediately after graduating.
I hope this helps. People have been hired into the systems from all over the country, so I don't know what they're looking for, exactly. I had six interviews and put in 50 applications or more. I lost count. Good luck to you!

Also If any of you are willing to relocate High Point Regional Hospital in High Point, North Carolina is hiring new grads. Applications are up for almost all units. I don't work there but I heard its a nice place to work.
Thanks for the info! I have my license in PA as well as CA and was thinking where else a good place would be too.
