U.S.A. California

I wanted to start a thread on the Sharp New Grad Program in San Diego that opened for apps today. Best of luck to all that applied!

Specializes in Near Future: ED, Future Future: ACNP!.
I have also applied. This will be my fourth attempt with Sharp.

Good luck to you Coriander! Have you interviewed with them previously?

Hi, just applied and got the email to complete the survey. Do you know if the survey is they supplemental app that was mentioned? Is that were you pick your units of choice?

Specializes in Hospice & Palliative Care, Oncology, M/S.

I've interviewed with them twice. The interviews are not that bad. Mostly behavioral, but sometimes they'll throw a clinical question at you to see if you're awake. :)

Coriander, you always crack me up! :roflmao:

Are we back to the snowball's chance in hell again?

I'm a little snowball, white and stout... Here is my chance in hell, here is my pout..... LOL Glad to have you aboard, ExPharmaGirl. *grin*

Just finished my application! I had work the past two days so I didn't get a chance until now. How do we know if they received our Supplemental app?

I applied to the NICU at Sharp Memorial and Grossmont, good luck everyone!

Hi Coriander,

Do they tell you why you weren't picked? Also, would you happen to know what helps get an interview? do you have related experience or things like ACLS, PALS? just curious to see what my chances are to at least get an interview.

I was told they had to cut spots. Both times. I don't believe it, but that's what I was told.

I am currently working with them as a nursing assistant, but that doesn't mean anything. I also have my ACLS and a ton of leadership experience, but although that might help with getting an interview, it hasn't helped in actually landing me the job.

I've been told my interviewing is great and appropriate, however can't seem to get past the "We've decided to pursue other candidates."

Hahaha! I've been out of town. So I just saw this.

At least we can make this fun :sarcastic:

That must be extremely frustrating. I, too have ACLS. I'm getting PALS in 2 weeks. What units did you apply for?

One of the things I hate about San Diego is that all of the hospitals are either Sharp or Scripps (with the exception of Palomar, Tricity, and Paradise Valley which are all tiny). How are we supposed to get experience if no one hires us?

I've tried some other, alternative routes such as LTAC to no avail also. What to do...how many times can a snow ball melt?

I wonder how long it will take to hear back??? Some of the programs listed November as the start date!
