Obtaining IP in CA

  1. Hi everyone, I have combed this site looking for an answer to my question, but I haven't found anything current on the topic. So, here is my question:
I applied for licensure by examination about 4 weeks ago. At the time when I applied, IPs and Initial Licenses were being processed at the same time (10-12 weeks) so it didn't seem beneficial to apply for an IP. Plus, I had head from many that most hospitals wouldn't take it since things are so competitive here in CA.
Buuuut, I was just offered a position starting at the end of January!!! Obviously, this is cutting it extremely close! Chances are good that I won't even have my ATT by then, let alone have my license. (I graduate 12/15).
Has anyone attempted to apply for their IP AFTER already submitting their application to the board? I am super desperate here, and even willing to make the drive to Sacramento if that's what it takes! Thoughts? Ideas? Phone numbers? Any help is much appreciated.
    Thanks in advance!!!

I paid for an IP when I tested in Feb. 2013, and I had it about 5 days before my license arrived. Not worth it for me... but I also didn't have a pending offer (congrats!)

This is basically what I was going to say. Once your ATT is posted, you can generally test pretty quickly thereafter. Unless there is some discrepancy with your exam, your score was very close to the pass line (265 questions), or some other issue, your license generally posts pretty quickly, even less than 48 hours sometimes. And, like you said, some places don't even take them. It may or may not be worth the added expense, and you never know when that darn ATT will come. I graduated May '14, not long after the BreEZe "upgrade" that caused the 90 day backlog, and my ATT came about 5 weeks after graduation, and my license posted less than 48 hours after my exam.
