National University SD Accelerated BSN January 2013

U.S.A. California

Hi! I've looked and looked and have not been able to find a dedicated thread for applicants to the accelerated BSN program at National University in San Diego for the January 2013 cohort (cohort 33).

I just took my essay and TEAS exam on Sept. 21st. I'm not sure how well I did on the essay, but I did ok on the TEAS. I guess I'm just looking for other people who has also applied to this program for support as we wait to hear on our applications in October.

Hope to hear from some of you!

@acunha: Congrats! I also got accepted to San Marcos ABSN Spring 2013..I just received my letter in the mail today. I'm also waiting to hear on NU and trying to read info on what other students from the programs say about each of the schools, but it's been difficult to find some current comments.

@SammiN: Yes, if the deposit isn't given by the time frame, then we'd lose our spot.

Honestly, I would go to Cal State San Marcos if I were you. Don't get me wrong because I am a National University Student, but that is only because I didn't want to wait for this fall to begin at CSUSM's BSN program. Not to mention their program is a year longer. Isn't CSUSM less expensive?

@ accunha, SammiN and ABSN2be..Congratualtions on your acceptance at CSU San Marcos.....Did you guys get an email or a letter in your mail for CSU San Marcos Sping 2013 Acceptance? I am a nervous wreck I was hoping to be accepted this time round with 31 points.. Please share your points too if you don't mind. Thanks.

I did not apply to CSUSM. How long is the ABSN program? I'm a bit confused, if the ABSN and Generic Entry program are both cohort 33 why do they have different pooling cycles?

@ ABSN2be & Sashapatra Thank you! I got an acceptance email first and then a letter a couple of days later. And I calculated around the same point tally as you but then again I didn't ask the advisor's what it ended up being so it could have been different. @Sashapatra I have a feeling you will get an acceptance email with 31points!!! :)

@ SammiN & CaptCrzy CSU San Marcos ABSN program is I think about 2 years and it is cheaper than NU for sure. However I am not too sure about the exact cost of the orientation.

I wonder why this time around NU is really behind with getting back to their applicants?? But yea if I don't hear back from NU by next week I am going to put down a deposit for CSUSM...cause otherwise I will lose my place and I can't risk that and wait around for NU.

@acunha: Just curious..if you get accepted to NU before the deadline to send your deposit, will you accept their offer instead of San Marcos?

I believe the orientation fee is about $2400 at NU

Hi Everyone,

I finally got accepted to San Marcos Campus. Thanks all for your help and encouraging posts. Good Luck to all that are still waiting.
