LA county Relief nurse 2013

U.S.A. California

Published

Hello all :) I applied to a relief nurse 1 position with LA county. I then got a letter in the mail sayng my application had been accepted and i was scheduled for the "examination." I took the test, passed the test, and got another letter in the mail about two months after my test saying I had passed and that my name will be placed in an "eligibility list." What now? Does any one know what happens after this process? Thank you all so much! any info is appreciated. I did get a call from Harbor UCLA and filled out some paper work and got scheduled for an interview. But is this test for all LA county nurse jobs? What has your experience been like? I also heard something about a verbal exam/ interview? what is that?

Hi I have one more question (sorry). Do you happen to know how long is their orientation for relief nurses? Thanks :)

I am told it's 6 weeks. After general orientation, you get assigned to preceptors. Managers I met told me that you will never be alone, everyone is there to pitch in and help.. I have a friend who works on a peds unit at LAC+USC and she loves it how everyone is there when you need and willing to help even when you are on your own..

Well, you have to understand that they may not show the effort to get everyone as a permanent but based on how much they like you I'd imagine.. If you end up interviewing don't be shy to ask all these questions you have. So far, my experience has been very positive during interviews..

I definetely do plan to ask these questions if I get an interview. That is if I even passed that written exam. thank you for answering my questions :)

Is it gonna be a panel interview?
