Mostly we just call it :Melody:The San Francisco Treat! :Melody:
Oddly enough, everyone here calls New York City ...um...New York City!
In the 12 years I lived there, I've only heard of it referred to that a handful of times. Perhaps it's the B&T who refer to it as "Frisco"?
You're twelve? You seem much older. Very mature for your age!
Actually, here in NorCal, we all call it either Frisco or SF.
Perhaps I should have said, NYC is comprised of Manhattan alone? hahaha..many people don't know there are 5 boroughs that make up NYC or even that Manhattan is an island? what?
Gidadahere! Manhattan is an island? Who'athunkit.

It drives me bonkers when people call San Francisco "Frisco." I also loathe "Cali."

Actually, I only hear out of towners refer to SF as "Frisco". We usually call it "the City", as "I'm going up to the city tonight."
A Bay Area person (from the Peninsula)
My boyfriend grew up in San Carlos, so for us it's either the Bay Area or the City too. Never, ever "Frisco." Typing that made me shudder.

NORCAL offer housing... doing something nice? hahaha! No not here in this state .... maybe if you're on a millitary base? Or I know if you are a Camp RN you get housing, otherwise youre on your own unfortunately, but providing housing for us nurses is quite a grand idea ...
And yes, as someone said before about SF being referred to as "the city"...indeed. It's hard for me to refer to SF as the city when I'm currently located in NYC for another few weeks before I end up back in "the city".
Yaaaay:)

There are some places that might include nurses in their affordable housing programs along with police, firefighters, and teachers. But these programs are few and far between and are as impossible as the section 8 program with its 10-12 year waiting lists.
