I am currently looking at ABSN programs to apply for. I really want to apply for CSUF's program, but my undergraduate GPA from UCI is not at a 3.25 which is the minimum required. If I have repeated courses in my undergraduate that were replaced on transcript, would CSUF take the repeat? Also, if I took community college courses while attending UCI, would those grades be counted in the cumulative GPA? Will any post-bacc community college courses be counted in the cumulative GPA?
If I manage to raise my GPA to a 3.25, my points will only be around 65. Do you know if this is considered competitive enough?
Hello! According to the ABSN program's FAQs section on CSUF's website, the average score for those applicants who made it to the interview stage in 2015-2017 was 66 points. For Fall 2018, they invited those of us with 70 points or more to interview. I was accepted with 95 points.
For 2019, applicants will also be asked to complete a statement of purpose and participate in a group activity on the interview day. The nursing advisor said that the department is moving to a more "holistic" approach to selecting students for admissions.
