Hey Hireme, your post seems to be extremely popular. I've got three semesters left so am not ready to apply yet but I would love a copy of that list. I'm all about doing the footwork asap. Maybe you could just post it here, is that allowed? Thanks for the valuable information.

UCI Medical Center will be offering a New Grad Program in January. I do not know what departments will be hiring or when the application process will be starting. Good luck to everyone still looking for jobs!

HireMe's list includes names of positions new grads can apply for (if the hospital doesn't have a new grad program) and HR or nurse recruiter contacts.

    Hey,

I'm new to the forum but a long time job seeker (going on 9 months). One of my fellow nurses has been working with CINHC surveying hospitals about new grad programs. There are 2,200 CA new grads this year. Only 1/3-1/2 will be hired in 2009 in CA. This info is off 64% of hospitals. Just thought I'd share this.
Thanks for the interesting stats! Good to have perspective on this.

It is very useful to have these resources consolidated.

How could I get a copy of your list? I graduated in December 08'. I have applied at over 800 jobs in California. I went on the internet, got a map and looked up every hospital and medical center in California and applied to everything I could. No response I've even had previous instructors review my cover letters and resume to help me make them better. I could use all the help I can get. I don't know what a PM is, but if that works, I would really appreciate your trouble. Thanks so much! Wendy

I feel the same way at this point. As one of my classmates put it New Grad RN is the new scarlet letter.

*groan* ugh. WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY!?!?!?!?!?!

Oh, yeah....REEEAAAAALLLL nursing shortage we've got here in the U.S! (*tongue-in-cheek*) Reeeaaaallll nursing shortage.

Or do new grads "not count" as nurses....? That's certainly what it feels like.:angryfire
