Anyone going to El Camino in Torrance

U.S.A. California

Published

Hi there,

I'm about to finally apply to the nursing program at El Camino in Torrance after 2 years of pre-reqs............:balloons:

I was wondering if anyone here is in the program. Any advice or comment on the program would be greatly appreciate it.

Thank you.

Well, I turned my app in 2 months ago, and I'm getting a little antsy. I guess if it took from Oct. to Feb. to get your letter I have a ways to go... urgh. I'm so burnt out from doing my pre-reqs in 6 months that I'm totally OK to wait awhile before starting. My advisor told me that if you just tell them that it's very important to you to be in the night program then you are almost assured to be in. Did you choose whether you'll be in the day or night program yet??

Hi there,

you should get your letter around July. I don't really care what program I'll be in, I just want to start and I'm planning on not working during NS so I can attend the day program. Start studying for the TEAS, we will have to take it before being officially accepted into the program.

Hi I applied to El Camino Nursing this past March and also haven't received my letter. A friend of mine applied in fall of 2007 and is getting in this fall so hopefully we get to start in the spring. Does anyone know if they have figured out the TEAS test requirements? I know Santa Monica's standard is a 67. Thanks!

Hi there,

I also applied in the fall of 2007 and I'm on the waiting list for Spring 2009 and guaranteed admission for Fall 2009. I guess your friend is very lucky to start next semester.

No news on TEAS yet, I went and talked to Martha in the nursing department but she still didn't know anything.
