California Home Health Agencies

Published

I am a California LVN who has been doing pediatric home health shift care. I want to go back to school for my RN but I want to continue doing home health shift care as an RN. Ive seen alot of home health visits for RN's or case manager and I don't want to do either. Does anyone know of any agencies in California that hire RN's for shift care?

Every agency I have worked for in CA has employed RNs for extended care cases and they have paid the RNs a higher rate of pay than the LVNs on the same case. You can't count on that though. Best to inquire during the hiring process.

When I look on indeed.com or ziprecruiter the agencies are pushing for RN's to do home health visits or case management. Like you said inquire before hire. I travel 60+ miles back and fourth to work. Between the two last cases I have had. This is the third cases that I have to travel so far on a bus which takes me 15 hours between travel and work. Its a little bit better now that I work at night so I leave my house at 8p to get to work by 11:30p to get off work at 7:30a to get home by 11a. It was horrible when I had to work at 8a and had to be up at 4:45a then off work at 4p to get home by 7:30p.
