Has anyone ever gone to California Career College in Canoga Park for the "Associate of Science in Nursing" program? I'm interested in finding out what the school is like, I've seen both bad and good reviews but so I'm really ify about if its worth going to the school or not. Also does anyone know if the hiring rate is lower if you go to a vocation/career college instead of a state school?
....
I'm currently taking the required classes to try and get into the nursing program at Moorpark College but ive been told its extremely competitive and hard to get into, so I have been looking into other colleges (Ventura, Pierce and Valley Colleges) but all of those each will take years to get into (I have a year and a half of classes to do plus the long wait to try and get into the programs) so I was thinking of going to a vocation school instead. I saw that California Career College was accredited with the California RN board so was hoping it would be a good choice to not have to wait around for years trying to get into a program at one of the community colleges or CSUCI.
thanks

OP,
100% of the time any school that has the word "career" in its name is poison.
These are owned by loan you up for-profit business people or corporations who know the nursing cash cow when they see one.
The best way to go to nsg school is to first go to (collegescorecard.ed.gov) plug in a couple of inexpensive community colleges where you live and take it from there.
This way you won't fall victim to those who really only see students as a ticket to their new beachhouse or longed for ski vacation.

I've attended the California Career College in 2012. It is now 2017 and I am struggling passing NCLEX-PN exam. I don't have to go through onto details about this vocational school and how/why I keep failing the state exam. This nursing school is very very toxic start from the owner/teacher. And it is ALMOST impossible to be able to concentrate on a subject that matters. The point is, do your research on google, yelp, YP, etc.. about the school's reputation. Use keyword: Califonia Career College reviews. Avoid referring to their main website. As always, a company will have good things to say about their teaching skills and accomplishments. This to be far beyond from reality. I can guarantee you will find what you are looking for if you broaden up your research about California Career College in Canoga Park. Best of Luck To You in your nursing endeavors.

HI. I would look elsewhere, this school is on warning status to close. Go to the BRN website and see for yourself. The boards discussed all their compliance issues on their 11/9/17 board meeting held in Riverside CA. The school is having so many issues. I'm not sure how anyone would consider enrolling here with all their outdated materials and lack of resources. Save your money and go elsewhere.
