Hi!
I recently graduated from USF Tampa with a Bachelor's in Health Sciences and a 3.3 GPA. I am interested in moving to California to get my BSN and am looking for advice as to where I should apply.
Since my GPA is not very competitive, I would love to hear of some programs that I actually have a shot at since I am starting to feel discouraged. I will be using this next year in Tampa to take some pre-req's needed for California BSN programs, so maybe that will raise my pre-req GPA. I am at about a 3.4 for pre-req's right now.
I would prefer an accelerated program, but I'll take whatever I can get. I would also prefer a public university located near San Diego, LA or San Francisco.
I am currently working full time as a medical scribe in the ER and have gained over 500 clinical hours shadowing physicians and working alongside nurses. I am also planning on taking a CNA class next month as well as volunteering at a hospital nearby. I am hoping the experience helps my chances!
I would love to hear back from you guys with what you think my best options are.

Is there any particular reason you want to relocate to California? The fiercely competitive nursing school admissions combined with the horrible new grad RN employment market there make it a tremendously unwise relocation spot.
There's Azusa Pacific University, National University, and Samuel Merritt to get you started. However, with your stats, you could be admitted immediately to several accelerated nursing programs in the Midwest and South.
I wanted to relocate to California because it has always been my dream to live there for awhile after finishing my undergrad. But you are right...after researching many programs I have found that it is super competitive over there. I am also open to any ADN programs.
Do you recommend any less competitive programs in the Midwest and South? I appreciate any advice.
