Just passed Ca state boards at the end of July. Posting resumes and apps for the few jobs I can find. In the SF bay area, what is the minimum salary to be expected for a new grad RN. And has anyone heard of any new grad programs in the bay, so far nada. Thanks for reading.

Well i'm a new grad in the same boat so as far as I'm concerned the new grad salary is $0 because NO ONE seems to really be hiring ....however if you are one of the luck few I hear it is around $40/hr but varies with each hospital
that is true, i am applying to a bunch of jobs that i am not qualified for, because of the lack of experience. (please do not name names of flu clinics per site owner - if you have questions please post in the help desk forum) is hiring at a lil over half that giving immunizations. might want to check it out. its better than the $0/hr. and might help while we look for hospital jobs. thanks for the reply and good luck to us both.
yeah ..ty for the info i have already received a job offer from (please do not name names of flu clinics per site owner - if you have questions please post in the help desk forum) as well as (please do not name names of flu clinics per site owner - if you have questions please post in the help desk forum) out of concord at least it will be a pay check for the holidays but far from where i would like to be.

You have just exited la-la land and are now into the territory of "sinking reality" If you thought nursing school was hard or getting in nursing school was hard, you are just beginning a new journey. It's going to take more guts, more creativity, more luck, more stamina than you ever imagine in order to work as an RN. Jobs right now are just a trickle and they vanish in thin air as soon as they exit the pipe. Getting a job as a nurse right now is like you trying to park your car and all spaces are filled, you go around the block 50 times until you see someone pulling out and you hope to be in the right place to take it and not the other guy. Good luck.
