Be thankful it is a C, you could have failed the class. Nursing courses can be very challenging and sometimes we think we have done well on the test when realistically it is not so. There are many students who are failing out of nursing college. I understand your point but you just have to work harder if that is possible. Many straight "A" students here feel very disappointed with their grades in nursing college. Keep the faith and be blessed.

I am in the same boat, a C in Adult 1! I am thankful that I passed but at the same time I want to get into graduate school and with C's on a nursing transcript who will want me? I am on a 3 1/2 week break and I plan to utilize all of my free time with studying, I am not a C student and I demand better grades. I feel your pain and wish you all the best!

i have to agree with goodnursingstudent. nursing programs can make a straight a student into a b-c student. example: i was a a-b student until i got into the nursing program. i did well until i got into my second year, then i failed my first class . i was really disappointed . now i have to wait to start the course over in the fall of 2010? to sum this up; just be happy with the c, i would have loved to get that c

i feel your pain
i too want to go to crna school and have been questioning as to whether or not i will be good enough. a lot of us feel this way. so, it's ok to feel disappointed but don't let it keep you down.
everything will happen as it should :)
good luck!!!

I konw how you feel, I got a C, passed the class by 1.77%. But some of my classmates failed the course. So in the grand scheme of things would you want a C or Fail the course...

Before i got accepted into the nursing program. I was a straight A student and I had a solid 4.0 G.P.A. Well when i got into the nursing program, I started struggling with one of my classes, which was a 6 credit course. As the semester continued, i was failing woefully in this class- i was getting D's in my exams.
I was so frustrated that i was about to fail this class and have to repeat a whole year of the nursing program!!! (my school only admits students on a yearly basis). Thank God, I was able to get a 95% in my final exam (which was about 45% of the total grade) and that was able to bring me up to a C in the class. It was very disappointing to see my G.P.A drop from a solid 4.0 to a 2.8, but it was better than having to repeat for a year.
This class was definitely a wake up call for me. Nursing is not like anatomy and physiology, or chemistry, where i can cram all the material and pass the class with an A. In nursing, its all about applying what you have learnt, not memorizing what you have read.
Needless to say, i was able to get A's and a couple B's as i continued in the nursing program and i graduated with a 3.5 G.P.A. So my advice to you would be to reflect on this "C" class, and think of what factors made you fail. Then try to improve on your weaknesses in your other classes. Good luck to you in everything

I think you need to concentrate on moving forward, you need to focus on the next classes you have and you can always take high graduate courses for CRNA school (chemistry, biology and pharm) to make up for the C- I too want to go to grad school, I know they do look at grades....but you can't change the past and need to focus on your future classes...

I am very sorry. I too received my first C in my nursing class this semester. Approximately 20% of my class failed this particular class. They will repeat this course in the summer of 2010, and instead of graduating on time in May 2010, their graduation date is pushed back to Fall 2010. As much as I would be glad to make a B, I'm just glad I passed and will be graduating on time.

started nursing school in fall 2007 with a 3.67 gpa, now 1 semester away from graduation and got a C in a 6 credit hour class and a 3 credit hour class. Outside of that I have gotten nothing but Bs in nursing school and my GPA is now a 3.2. I am just glad I am graduating next semester and I got over the fact that I will no longer be a mostly A student but I will graduate with a gpa above 3.0 and I am thankful for that and can't wait until its over.

I had never gotten anything less then an a on my bachelors in administration, but, nursing school transformed me and afew other nerds (im such a dork) into
(hybies [b+])
my GPA went all the way down to a 3.83!!!! and i couldn't care less! i rather get a C and know what I am doing, then get an A from memorization (those people are gonna have to study double hard for the Nclex!!!)
now i do respect a couple of girls in my class, they always get 99 on things, man its like if they were from MARS or something like that,!!! they amaze me!

I too am about to receive a C in my first semester of nursing, unless i get a perfect score on my final which will bring me to a B. I'm glad and disapointed at the same time. glad that i passed my first semester of nursing, while other dropped and failed out. disappointed because i know i can do better if i spend more time studying. I entered nursing school with a 3.3, and im just hopping to keep my GPA at least a 3.0 after i finish, so i can transfer to rutgers.
anywho, dont give up!
