Hello all,
I am a new grad (hopefully) beginning my first job soon. However, I will be commuting about an hour each way to my hospital. I live in NJ, and weather is four season so I need a car that is good in rain, slush, snow, etc. especially because of my long commute.
My only two other requirements for the car are affordable, obviously, because I am a new grad and am just getting on my feet, and decent/good gas mileage. I'm currently driving a 2005 Honda Civic and while it's great on gas, I can barely drive around town without skidding through at least one stop sign in the snow.
Any ideas? I've heard a lot of good things about Subarus.
All you truly need are snow tires or studded tires. Now if your vehicle isn't equipped for the constant commuting then buy another car but tires are important. I live in Colorado where it snows 6-7 months out of the year. & you can buy brand new with good credit and not pay an arm and a leg. I drive a 2015 Dodge Challenger for under $400 a month and my interest rate is 2.25%. My car had just over 40 miles on it when I purchase me it. I have all season tires for the snowless months and snow tires for the other months.

nothing more than a three year loan, otherwise you are underwater, on a five year that point is ~ 2.5 years in.
