Welcome to Allnurses.com..................

Before I can help you with your question, or anyone else for that matter, it will depend on the training that you had, and when you graduated. In the UK and Scotland, the training is now by "Specialist" and the US requires "Generalist" training, meaning that you will need to take the approved number of hours in maternal/ peds areas before you could be able to sit for the NCLEX exam here for US licensure. Not sure if you are past that point yet, just trying to clarify things first.

Not sure where you are in the scheme of things with that..........or if you already have a license and are just waiting for immigration.

You may also get more response by posting under the Psychiatric nursing section, as mental health facilities in the US are much more limited than in other areas and are usually a world of their own.

Specializes in Med-Surg, Geriatric, Behavioral Health.
