Maybe it's just me but the past couple of days I just feel a little burnt out. :smilecoffeeIlovecofI have been studying for months, I think I have read everything there is to read at this point, practiced labs million + times, practicing AOC, practiced care plans and documentation up the ying/yang, doing my conference calls etc... and just need some ideas from you guys to get myself motivated again. I have five weeks left so any tips you have I would appreciate.
THANKS!! as always.

Take a day or two off! Re-energize yourself. Do something fun and enjoy yourself. You are probably in overload and need to let your mind take a break!!! Good luck:)

That happened to be about a month before my CPNE. I didn't study or practice anything for 2+ weeks (not that I recommend it). I was just so sick of studying and KNEW I knew it so I was at the point of "let's get this over with".
Take a few days and look at when your date is.. I'd make a schedule of things to accomplish before your date (like practice labs at least 3 more times ect..) Have you had people watch you? Have you looked at videos online like youtube? I'd watch some and see if I found errors ect.. Good luck!

Maybe you should focus on trying different relaxation techniques for a week, then get back into it. And if not doing it already, instead of practicing do a mock pcs daily like Rob advised in his video, maybe that will help because it is not exactly studying just another daily task.

Ditto to all the above- it was about month before mine too, I had my "patient" on my pool table, which is the first room I walked through every day. I simply said hi to "jeffery" :lol2::lol2:and that was it. Then about a week later, I went back to it and I was so glad I did that because I found out how much I actually retained and also realized I had been making a mistake on my IV push. Took my CPNE with no repeats The best of luck and prayers are with you
Thank you to everyone for your suggestions. I think I am going to take a few days off and regroup and then set up a new plan for the last month. I stayed away from everything pretty much yesterday and just practiced my pcs scenarios on my daughter. She is the perfect patient because she jumps at the chance to do it and she always interupts during vitals and aoc's so it is good for me to get sidetracked and then go back to what I was doing to see if I can pick up where i left off.
THANKS again, and it is good to know that others have gone through this lull while studying.

I took a week-long vacation to Oregon with my husband a couple of months before my CPNE. I took my study guide with me on my laptop, because it made me feel better just to have it around, but I didn't study once! I needed the mental break. And when we got home, I jumped back in to CPNE studies feeling refreshed and not hating it. We all need a break every now and then!! *hugs*

I know what you mean by being burnt out. I failed my first CPNE Feb 28th weekend and did not look at this stuff until 2 weeks ago. But I was thinking about it and and reading the EPN and this site, youtube videos, etc. Just cruising. In the past week I have refined my mneumonics, now I am doing a mock PCS daily. I don't use my dummy any more, I think it got stale. Now I have very difficult and chatty "Patients on paper". On Friday I will practice all of my labs again and again until they feel right. Driving off to Albany on May 7th for my SUCCESSFUL CPNE! I really was feeling that too much of this stuff was draining my confidence. If you know the critical elements and labs, backward, forward, upside down in your sleep, take a mental health break and then go back to it. Good Luck!!!!

BJBABS, I am not there yet, but it sounds like you have got some good responses from our senior members...Not in age, but in intellect and experience going through all of the obstacles. I just wanted to stop by and wish you the best of luck. Traci
