Burned out on this job search

Published

I've had my license for about a month now and this whole past year I've been working in a elementary school as a school nurse. They hired me without a license and I worked under another nurses license until I got my own. And now that I do have my RN, I've been constantly applying to hospital jobs. I'm desperate to get back to bedside, acute care nursing. I didn't think I would miss it this much. My problem is not knowing where I want to be its getting there.......

I've applied to so many internships and residency programs its ridiculous. Not to mention all the other general nursing jobs that I am constantly getting automated rejection emails from. Is there anything I can do to help me stand out? Or do i just have to keep applying and hope that one day I'll get an interview? I meet all the qualifications except hospital experience, but how can I get that if i can't even get an interview?

Thank you for your time and answers :)

Specializes in Medical Oncology, ER.

so you've had your license for a month? keep applying. you're a new nurse with no acute care experience, your best way in is knowing someone on the inside. in the mean time, brush up your resumé, go to conferences and try to network, or apply out of state.
