BSN or RN-BSN at University of North Florida and FSCJ???

Published

Hello! My name is Manny and I am in a bit of a conundrum. Right now I am a prospective nursing student. I have applied to both Florida State College at Jacksonville and University of North Florida for their ADN and BSN degree programs, respectively, and am waiting for the admission decision.

I hear that getting an RN degree and then bridging to BSN would be a good way to save time and money.... others say it is better to just go straight through BSN because of better job opportunities for new grads. What are your thoughts? The thing is that I want to get to work more quickly and I thought that getting RN and then RN-BSN online would be a good fit for me. However, I am not sure, due to the current economic situation and because personal extenuating circumstances. The problem is that I don't have any medical work experience, but I am confident that I can make it up through volunteer work, nursing association involvement, and networking. I do, however, have a current certified nursing assistant license, but no one wants to hire me because I have no experience...

Is there anybody out there that can relate to my current situation. If so, your help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you and have a blessed day :)
