She has a degree, she can display it. I would caution her to not attempt to do nursing things at work - she is a tech, right? - because that will get her in trouble.

It looks really bad, though. If state surveyors ever came in, and pulled her file randomly, oh boy. There is one excrement show.

At the last survey in the clinic that I work at, they decided to pull employment files on every staff member (and we are a larger clinic).  They looked at everyone's info and their credentials, then looked at license info for the nurses, education etc, and made sure everything matched--we were only missing 1 BLS card, and fixed that in a few minutes.  I think this situation would have been a nightmare that would have made my butt pucker!

There's lots of other issues such as credibility in a court of law for an upcoming misdemeanor trial of hers.  I advised her to clean up social media so a lawyer doesn't break down her credibility for calling herself a nurse when she's not one.

Oh now we're getting somewhere! Maybe she can't take the NCLEX until her legal issues are settled. BON doesn't play about character when it comes to approving licensure.

So how does one take the NCLEX when you graduate nursing school before 2014? I don't remember the exact year she actually graduated,  in another country.

wildcatchristie,  I'm concerned that you are posting too much private info abut your friend on this publicly available + searchable website that might comeback to haunt both of you. You've warned her, nothing else posted here will change situation.

Some people were not really serious about their taking the NCLEX and trying to pass. Maybe more interested in boys. I honestly don't want her becoming a nurse because I know it is truly not in her heart.  I do believe it is a disservice to patients where she's working to have a BSN on her badge and not really be a nurse because most people see BSN on our badges and automatically think RN

This is a good point also. I went to school with a young lady that got married just before starting. She became pregnant partway through the course. Her husband is financially well off and they decided she would be a stay at home mom. She finished that degree for herself even though she had zero intention of ever using it.
