I was accepted to a BSN/MSN FNP program last year but had to defer because of cost. I don't know if I'll be able to go this year, either (depends on scholarships/grants) but even if I start Fall 2013, I'll be finishing my last year of the MSN FNP program in 2016. Just curious what will happen to those of us who will be in school before 2015 but graduate after 2015 with the whole DNP by 2015 thing.

There is no "whole DNP by 2015 thing." This is still a proposal by a few of the academic nursing organizations, not a mandate. AFAIK, no state has announced plans or intentions to require a DNP. The only professional group that has embraced the mandatory-DNP idea is the CRNAs, and their target date is 2025, not 2015 (and it remains to be seen whether that will actually happen). So many schools are converting their MSN programs to DNP programs that this is becoming a moot question in many parts of the US (since students can't find an MSN program to get into :)), but there is, so far, no requirement.
