BSN/MBA to DNP

Published

Does anyone know of a program reasonably priced where I can enroll in a DNP program with a BSN/MBA without having to go get a MSN first? I was told to try University of Alabama-Huntsville but it leads me to believe I must enroll in a MSN program first.

OP: I have an MBA. In my experience there are very few bridge programs for a RN prepared with an MBA to receive a DNP. Most state universities are what I would consider "reasonably priced". However, I personally have not found one searching four states that have bridge programs. In other words, the state universities I have looked at require an MSN to receive admission to the DNP program. The schools I have found with bridge programs are all private schools and, of course, are not cheap (By the way, if you find a cheap school, let us know). Therefore, I put returning to school on-hold for a long time.

Now, my current employer is seeking magnet status and is paying for managers to earn MSNs and DNPs. Thus, I am in school to earn an MSN to combine with my MBA in order to allow me more options and opportunities to receive a terminal nursing degree at a state university later. Good luck!

Hi CiCi_Hicks, I graduated with my DNP from BSN through University of Arizona without having to get my MSN. I would say it is not cheap though. But a very good program!

Any luck with finding a program? I have my BSN and an MBA in Healthcare Management and want to pursue a DNP. I've done some research but there's a lot of pathways that don't suit my needs.
