BSN graduate from the Philippines; change of status from h4 to f1; NCLEX

Published

Hi everyone, i'm a recent graduate from the philippines, i graduated Bsn last april 2011.. I came in the US with an H4 visa, with 2 months left in my i94, i applied for a student visa, received my receipt number and is monitoring my change of status' status.

I am currently in New York, thinking of studying English, or anything else tonprolong my student visa, and oh well, i want to have more self-esteem when speaking the english language.

Anyway, I'm worried about taking the NCLEX...

Am i qualified? Can i take it here? What do i need to do? How much will it cost? How long will it take?

Anyone in the same situation as me?

I was planning on doing the ces on cgnfs.. But i'm a little worried too because my school from the Philippines is very slow. Diploma and TOR still isn't released. They told me SO# is needed before release.. Hayyy.. I don't know, it's been moths since the graduation, and yet they haven't released anything.. Tsk...

So yeah, that's the reason i'm afraid of starting the CES... I dont wanna waste more or less than 390$ until i'm sure all documents are ready...

So any advice?? Thank you very much....

Before you spend on anything, I suggest you check the NY BON website to check their requirements. FYI, you don't need CES, what they require is CVS also from CGFNS. I don't know if you can prolong your stay just enough through an F1 just be ready to wait for many years and be aware of retrogression and the tough job market for new grads in the US today.

For the CES report. It took about 6 -8 months before they send the report to NY BON

Are you sure it's CVS and bot CES? I am a recent graduate from the Philippines, I was not able to take the local board.. So... Anyway, i'm planning to keep on studying till i pass it then work via agency for a start while still studying.. Etc... I dont know.. My family is here in NY, if i go back in the Phil, then o dont know where ill end up.. :(

Specializes in Medical and general practice now LTC.

For NY it is CVS not CES they are different

I'm sorry it is CVS that u need not CES.

ok i just applied on line for the cvs and already paid the 390$ fee.

here is my order status:

signed notarized application : waiting to be received [?]

license validation form : requirement waived [?]

license authorization form : requirement waived [?]

transcript validation form : waiting to be received [?]

my question is: do i have to send them any document? like the one i put in color red ? signed notarized application? because i did the online application, i'm not to sure what my next step is.. thanks.....

Ah! U need to print the application form that u filled up online then go to the nearest Attorney's office or anywhere that notarized. Then send it back to the CGFNS. Think that is 4 or 5 pages.

I can't find it :(

Got it. I finished printing it. Ill get it notarized tom & then mail it. Thanks! :)
