BSN at a good school or MSN at one that is questionable...

Published

A couple of years ago I graduated with my Master's in Social Work from a state university and have been working as a medical social worker since. After working along side care teams I've recently decided that I would like to pursue nurse practitioning as an end goal. I have been presented with two options: Pre-licensure RN AAS program that has a BSN transfer agreement with a state university VS. Pre-licensure RN AAS program that has an MSN transfer agreement from a for-profit college. Since the trend for NP's is moving towards DNP I'm not sure if having an MSN from a for-profit will help or hurt my application over the BSN. I can transfer to a DNP program with either BSN or MSN. Any insight would be greatly appreciated!
