Hi everyone I didn't see one made yet so I guess this will be the official thread for BC May 2015!
Congratulation to all who have been accepted and to all my future applicants. I will be taking the hesi on January 30th and I'm really nervous!!!!. Can you please help !!! I'm using the evolve 3rd edition, what are other tools that I can use so I can ace that exam. is the exam hard?Your help is needed.. thank you
if you are sharp in each of subjects then you shall be fine. Know your anatomy, and be skilled in math. Conversions are VERY important and a big part of the math so for a not so big on math person like myself I def had to brush up on it. I used the Elsevier 3rd edition to help me prepare and it was a nice help to prepare me for the exam.
If I get a choice, my first pick is Davie. That's where I've taken most of my prereqs and I like the campus. I have never been to South, but that would be my second choice due to location. How about you?
Wow really?!? Crazy. Hey it's probably going to be a long waiting game from here.. Fingers crossed for us!!! Where do you plan on going??
Thanks, I might actually prefer the Saturday so I guess we'll see. I would certainly like not having other school students around at the same clinical. Does Central campus have clinicals only at Memorial Hospital or is Broward General a choice also?
Well, the only rotation that I experienced weekend clinicals was OB. I didn't see any clinicals before or after that had weekend clinicals. Learning was a bit different. Slower pace than weekdays, but you also weren't having clinicals with students from other schools. I personally didn't like them. Weekends are generally for my family and I while work and school is on weekdays. It kinda messed with my clock as well. :)
I also used the Elsevier 3rd edition, but I used online tests also just for practice. The math certainly had conversions as ah913 said. You can use the calculator on the computer only. Make sure you memorize the Metric/US equivalents. I put these on a flash card and learnt them. Also, know your roman numerals and military time. The grammar/reading comprehension is straight forward. Make sure you know your AP as that's easy to mess up on. It's pretty easy stuff, but I personally am a nervous test taker so that doesn't help.
Don't stress too much, you have time to prepare. Make sure you do prepare yourself and you will feel more confident going in which will produce better results. I used online tests to practice as the book is obviously limited. The more you practice the more comfortable you will become. I used test-guide.com and also Googled other 'Hesi A2 practice tests'. They will give you a random assortment of questions for varying topics, so it gives you more practice. Study smart and be organized with your study schedule and you will do fine, it's not a hard test. Best of Luck :)

North probably, cause I live nearby. Second choice would be central. Never been to south either..
When do you think we will hear something by..? Feb atleast..? 😳
Yeah, when I called Nicole last week to ask about my status, she said they won't even look at nursing until Feb/March. So I guess late Feb/early March maybe.....If I assume it will be later, I will be happier if it's sooner...so it's mostly a psychological thing! :) I still stalk my status every day or so....but I'm not paranoid by any means...HA!
At least your status is updated- mine still says 'denied' Are you going to attend the info session on the 21st? I will go as I have class that day on Central anyway.
Have you read about new grads finding it challenging to land a job?

Ohhh ok, I'll try to refrain from checking like a mad woman everyday. Need to let it go for now.. Hahahaha why does yours say denied?? Thats crazy.
But probably not, I heard it's very general stuff.. We'll see.
And no I haven't! But I hear horrible rumors that prospective hospitals dont prefer BC nursing students..
Idk 😣 have you??

Both. Also, Cleveland Clinic, Westside Regional, University Pavilion (psych). :)

No no no. :) They love BC grads! As a patient at times I have been hurt by nurses' techniques (have 3 IV insertion scars still, 4 months later) and when I asked the 3 nurses what school they went to, it wasn't Broward. I've requested Broward nurses by that point. Even the instructors who have been patients will request a Broward nurse. When I did clinicals we were usually paired with former BC students. :)
