Hello, this is a thread for any current nursing students at Broward college or those who have recently been accepted. I'm a bit confused on Broward's admission criteria. What classes exactly do they use to calculate the gpa?

Did everyone get their Drug screen and Background checks done?

Yes, I handed in all my paperwork already to get it out of the way. They are VERY specific about everything. One of my vaccines didn't have a date next to it and they said it might be a problem even though I got everything the same day. So I recommend getting all receipts for the background checks and medical documentation of ALL vaccines, titers, etc, and make sure everything is signed and dated.

Got my Drug Screen done last week and got my background checks done today! All set for orientation on the 18th! Cant wait!

Quick Question.

For the HSC0405 (CPR Basic Life Support), does it have to be from the American Heart Association?

According to what I've read yes it has to be American heart association

Try nursing unlimited I believe that should be fine. If not always safest to go through school. Hope this helps!

I actually have to retake 1 section of the HESI on Saturday (fingers crossed) then turning in application on Monday. Apparently there is still quite a few seats. I know there's orientation tomm which I'm not going to make it for but they told me if I turn in monday & then get accepted they will set up a separate meeting to go over everything. So here's hoping!!!

Yes, the CPR has to be through American Heart Association. Just do it through the school, easier than trying to find a course that's affliated through AHA.

Doing my drug screen today on my lunch break and I have an appointment to do my fingerprints tomorrow morning. Didn't have to do the online background check since I did it for the August term. I'm so ready for all of this to be over with! January please hurry:sarcastic:

My status changed to pre program application. Anyone else have this? I'm confused. Plus, I've already registered for classes and haven't gotten an email after whatsoever confirming orientation, etc,...anyone?

The best thing for you to do right now is go to B.C or call the nursing department to find out what's going on ASAP, because you should not have pre program application after you've been accepted unless something is wrong with application, or your registration.
