Anyone Applying to the May 2017 program? I wanted to get into the January program but I was missing a math class and couldn't complete it in time for the January program.
I have a question, maybe Nichole or someone could answer. Is chemistry a class that is taken in the program? If so, If I want to take it prior to the program which one is it? Intro to chemistry or health science of chemistry??
Chemistry is only required to be able to take Microbiology. It is not required for the RN program. CHM1032 is the recommended Chemistry course.
So if i have taken micro then I'm good? Because the school I went to for it didn't have that requirement I guess
thank you, I just wanted to make sure!

Hello Nichole,
I hope that you can answer this question for me.
I recently applied to the Nursing program that starts in May 2017, but I am currently taking my last pre-requisite (A&P 2 lecture and lab). When I went to the north campus to turn in my Hesi results, the health science admissions officer told me that I could apply to the program that same day even though the grades for my A&P 2 were not posted yet. So I filled out the application and paid the $20. But now I am scared that my application is reviewed before the grades are posted in december and I am not consider for the program. Am I worrying too much or should i I have waited until my grades were posted?

You will be fine. Even if we enter your application in the system now, we will go back and review them again after February 15 to see if the student has completed courses, etc.

Hi everyone. For those of you who do not know me, my name is Nichole. I am one of the Health Science Admissions team members. I am not on the board to "spy". Yes the program is hard. Those "horror" stories you have heard, I have heard them too. They are normally from students who are not doing well in the program. I have friends who have gone through the program; some have made it straight through, others have failed courses and had to retrack back into the program.... I have heard it all. I am only here to make sure the correct information is posted. So vent, talk, have a good time. Don't mind me. I usually do not pop up unless reminders are posted, or information needs correcting.
As you are preparing to apply for the May term, please keep these things in mind:
* All transcripts, if you are retaking a course at a private school, applications, and passing HESI MUST be received by February 15 in order to be considered for May.
* When you apply, you are applying to the program, NOT a particular campus.
* Yes we do take credits from Keiser.
* If you applied for August and were not accepted, your application will be moved to May. You do not have to pay the fee again.
* May is a shorter term (12 weeks instead of 16 weeks/ 6 weeks instead of 8 weeks) so it is the same amount of material in a shorter semester.
* For the May term, we accept less students because we also accept for the LPN to RN transition program in that term as well.
