Anyone Applying to the May 2017 program? I wanted to get into the January program but I was missing a math class and couldn't complete it in time for the January program.
Hey! Do you guys know if they JUST look at your pre-req classes to calculate the GPA? Because if so, I'm golden. However I have a bunch of credits from an unfinished Biology degree at FSU (was pre-med but failed miserably) that dropped my overall GPA to a 2.5.My pre-req GPA is 3.5 though.
they only look at the GPA made up of your prerequisite classes: English, anatomy I & II. HESI is easy don't sweat it. SAT was harder
I registered for Micro Lab on Saturdays I live in Miami, I will be taking it for Spring 2017 at MDC, that's the only class I'm missing, I have my AA already, don't stress it over, you have a great GPA. I'm sure you will be in, I'm more worried about the program and all those horror stories I read everyday, and how am I going to pay for classes, I hope I can get a loan. I'm planing not to work during the program. I;m planning to take the Hesi in December too.
I haven't heard much horror stories myself except that they are strict. I am just anxious to get into a nursing program because I'm not getting any younger! You should be able to get a loan even with your AA. Check out federal loans first then venture into private. I'd say worst case you need a co-signer.

Even with an AA degree, you may qualify for aid. You can take loans. Also look at Career Source Broward. If you live in Miami Dade County, I believe it is Career Source South Florida.

3.5 you are more than safe. Have you done the Hesi yet?
