Broward College January 2011

Published

New thread started for all those applying for / accepted to / attending Broward College January 2011. Chime in, let us know how you're doing!

Hey I was accepted but got very few points.:yeah::yeah: I already have a BA from the University of South Florida. Are there anyone out there with a BA or BS already, because Im concern about finanial aid?

Congrats!:grpwlcm:

I remember at the orientation that the said you don't qualify for aid if you have a BA or BS, but they said to apply anyways and they may have other things they can help you with.

I would probably have to take out a loan. If so, I dont care because I want this so bad! Its my passion and I want to continue working with HIV/AIDS.

THANKS FutureRNnprogrez! :yelclap:

Even though u may have to take out a loan, it will be well worth it in the end. You would have the means to pay it off quickly.

I was told that the entire program costs $8,000 to $10,000 including books if you have the pre reqs done already. I already have a BS and an MS in another field. Does anyone know if the amounts I was told are acurate? I'm going to have a hard time getting any FA :(

Does anyone know which class we will start first in Jan? How long they will last? Also, how many days a week will we attend class/clinicals each week? I'm trying to figure out if I'm going to do Online or Face to Face and still keep my job. :)

I thought it was $6000. I have a family member who just started in Aug.

I read online that it was 6,000. Also in another thread, another student that is in the program said to buy the required books only because they really do not use the other books. I think I will do online as well due the same reason, work.

this schedule is for north campus though..:clown:

Went to the school "North" today. Got some answers I needed. It sounds like "read" and "study" are important things to do from the comments made by some of the students I stoped and talked to in the hallway. :) I'm struggling with a decision to go face to face or online....I was accepted to both... I'm leaning towards face to face but I need to work PT :( I'm hoping that we can get a study group together quickly so it eases the stress off us for the "first class". I've talked to several professors and they suggest the sooner that happens the better it is for everyone. The problem is if you get someone in your group that doesn't take it serious or do their part...they drag the whole group down. :(
