Hello Ladies and Gentlemen,
I'm starting this thread for students looking to start(ing), and (or) finishing there pre's by spring of 2013 at Broward College. Also for those who are entering (or) looking to enter the Nursing Program in Fall 2013.
We are exactly one year away from this program. So tell me what classes are you taking or have left?
I have Fall Math Intermediate, A&P II lab only, and Computers (need 6 credits to get loans.) Winter College Algebra or Statistics and Chem 1032& Chem lab
Summer Microbiology and Micro Lab.
Yesterday I visted advisement at South, and when I was leaving I got a wake up call that now I will only live, eat, breath nursing school. I never felt this way before. Once me and my advisor went over my Education Plan I started to feel that school going to get harder. Hey I can do this and so can you.
** Let me know your thoughts guys. Until....
Hi nurse2783, I am actually still a pre-nursing student, so I won't be able to answer any questions about the program or the scheduling, sorry. I do have a tip for you, you can log into BC's portal as if you're going to register for classes, and put in the first semester nursing classes to see what the schedule is like. At least that's what I did to see if I'll be able to work a PD position or work period. I was initially planning to apply for the fall term, which is the reason I had the booklist to begin with, but I changed my mind and decided to wait until January.Sent from my iPhone using allnurses.com
Okay thanks! I did look at the courses, and I think it looks doable. I just wanted to hear it from someone who's been there. Good luck for January!
Hey everyone, I finished ALL of BC nursing pre reqs and since I got an 81 on the HESI and not an 85 ..I thought my life was over ! I decided to apply for Nova's BSN program for Winter but then thought to myself...I have a 3.75 GPA and got an 81 on the HESI...Maybe they would consider me? This Tuesday I am going to drop off my app just to see if I get in...I don't know what to do with myself lately. I really want to go to Nova actually...but I a curious to see if I can start sooner at BC and then just transfer for my RN to BSN. Does anyone else have a lower score on the HESI but a good GPA ?

Hello everyone and congratulations to those who were accepted into the program starting in August!
I have been lurking on here for a while and you all have been very informative and helpful to one another, and lurking readers. LOL.
I am thinking about submitting an application for Fall term, with the extension and everything, I thought I'd give it a shot. What I wanted to know is if it's not a problem with anyone, would you guys mind sharing your GPA and HESI scores. I just want to know if I have a shot with a 3.2 GPA and a 90% composite score on the HESI. Thanks in advanced!!!!!!

Hi NewNurse :) I just left Central campus today after leaving my application in the drop box. I figured it's only 20 bucks to take a shot in the dark and see if I make it in because I have nothing to lose at this point. I have a 3.75 Pre-Req GPA and a 3.3 overall only because I got a D in my math class but I am retaking it this summer starting on Thursday to bring me back up to my 3.5 I had. I am so mad about that. Here are my other pre-req grades
ENC1101 - A
CHM1032 - A
BSC2085- A
BSC2086- A
BSC2085L- B
BSC2086L- B
REMEMEBER you have until JUNE 28TH !
I am praying to God I make it in but I still have Nova for Winter 2014 to fall back on plus, its's a BSN program. At this point in my life I a 26 and I need to do something other than being an Ophthalmic Technician because this will get me no where unless I become an eye doctor. Good luck to you and to everyone else who makes it in ! I am up for questions or studying whatever, I just moved to Davie and very close to BC. Again, good luck to you and I hope to see you in August !
Hey everyone, just thought I would share that less than 24 hours already I was denied due to MICRO not being completed .. I was told by an advisor in Pines Center that
It was NOT needed as a pre req for fall.. And that I can apply without it. So to anyone with out that class .. That's what's happening now, waste of my 20 bucks. Guess Nova it is !
