Hi! This is a thread for anyone applying for August 2012 class at Broward College for the generic nursing track. I deferred my seat so I will be starting in August. I haven't decided if I want to go to central or south yet.. I'm super excited about starting in August! If I could help anyone with anything feel free to ask! :)
Hi, anybody considering doing the theory classes online? I got the email and I'm wondering how much harder it would be. I did chemistry and my english classes online but this I'm not too sure about.
I got the email as well but I personally think that online should really be considered upon those with tight schedules with either like kids, job and etc. but taking the nursing classes online would mean complete independence and a lot of learning on your own type of thing...
I also received the e-mail offering to do the theory classes online. I thought it might be a good idea because I have a baby but I like the face to face setting better. I'm just really nervous because I'm going to central campus and the students who are going through theory 1 right now are horrified. Half of the students are already gone, and the other half are barely passing. =/ Anyone here going to central? I'm scared lol
I also received the email regarding the theory classes online today. I will NOT be doing any online classes for the RN program because I prefer the face to face setting. I always make it a point for my professors to know me on a first name basis, especially in difficult classes. Out of curiosity I looked up a couple of forums regarding the online portion of the program on here and I will admit the comments regarding other's experiences were not very positive. And per a couple of other students who already completed the program face to face, the lecture classes are not really that long. Some meet only twice a week for 2-3 hours and the rest of the required time on campus is for clinicals which you would have to do no matter which setting you choose. I do believe that the outcome of nursing school is what you put into it so everyone has their own preference of learning, studying techniques, etc. I agree with previous posters that if you are available to do the program face to face it will most likely be a better learning experience. Not to mention I feel that online classes tend to have a lot of extra "busy work" to compensate for the lack of attendance.
Have any completed all their ceu's on ceufast.com. Except for bls. I already completed mine but i have 5hrs for osha/hep/tb. However I realize that the BC website offers 6hrs for those, just wanted to know if anyone already completed theirs on ceufast without any issues?
i think you take then separately.
For OSHA you would take Infection Control and Barrier Precautions -4 hours
Tuberculosis- 2 hours
Hep C- 2 hours
I suppose you could always call and ask. Perhaps they will bring up the issue at the pre admission session.
This the link to the page for anyone that wants to check it out
