Hello Everyone,

I am new to this site, but I've seen other threads for other semesters for Broward College. I didn't find one for August 2015. I figured this would be a good place to share each other's excitement to (HOPEFULLY!) start the program in August. Let's all support each other on this journey! :)

Also, anyone buying a bookbag to carry books and supplies?

I just ordered the WORK: Soft stride from Skechers.com. They were out in the store. They are $70. But if you become a member you get 20% off. So it came up to $56. w/ free shipping.

Okay so we don't need a Pharm book? And I got the fundamental of nursing 8th edition textbook awhile ago online and it didn't come with a clinical companion or study guide so thats a bummer lol gotta get those so....how much was the fundamental textbook at the bookstore for North again?

Nope it's true they are different prices at different stores and it's fine. South has diff logos then us at north do so I think that's the reason why. You dont need the pharmacology book I got a B in the class just fine by him lecturing off the powerpoints. I was just a few points shy of an A. Med/surg book I just bought because we didn't need it for our first semester, but I will be needing it now that I'm going to GI/GU. You do need your stethoscope, watch with second hand, bandage scissors and pen light for your clinical days. Don't give them a reason to make you an example, please be prepared. You don't need the perry potter study guide I know a lot of people said it was a waste of money, but if you want to, ask your teacher if it will be beneficial to you before going out and purchasing it. Your certifications : make several copies and keep your originals! Just in case you have to hand any over, give them the copies UNLESS indicated otherwise. Keep your copies in a portfolio for yourself in case any get lost in translation you have backup. Roller backpacks are your best friend in this program, with the book load and the future of nurses, you're gonna need to save your backs :)

Yes. Jason said there will not be a test the first week...thank goodness.
