Published

I'm curious to know if there are any brazilian nurses/nursing students in San Diego or orange county area. I'm from Brazil :)

Hi, I am from Brazil too! I start nursing school in Oct/2010. What about you? Are you in San Diego? What hospital/school?

I had no idea we couldn't post in another language..

Neither did I! Did you get my last reply?

No I didn't see it, they deleted it before I had a chance to read it.

Ok, I will write it again! No problems!

I was saying that National University's point system only counts the GPA of the sciences and statistics classes (7 classes total), TEAS and proctored essay scores. If you read through National University San Diego forum, you will find good information on several topics. By the way, do you have a Bachelor's already?

Just be careful with Kaplan college! I heard their credits are not transferable.

And there is another Brazilian, a friend of mine, going to National. She is going to finish Micro (her last prerequisite) next month, and apply for nursing school in August for April Cohort.

If you need any help with anything, please let me know!

It's a pleasure meeting you too!

No, I don't have a bachelor's yet. I wasn't very serious about school until I got married hehe. :lol2:That's good to know that they only count those classes for the GPA, it seems like a really good school!

The only down side is that the only available class for me is next April, June, and August. That means I would only be able to apply at the end of next year

I know about Kaplan's credits not being able to transfer, but I heard University of Phoenix will accept it and people go there for their bachelor's.

Thanks for all the info!!

Yeah, there is one university that accepts their credits. However, the waiting is worth when you know several doors will be opened to you! I started classes at National November/2008, and just now Oct/2010 I will start nursing school (two years later). Time flies by when you are studying.

I am also married, and with kids! I have been enjoying my free time, because I know it will be over when school starts, and then job hunting.

I asked if you have a Bachelor's because there are other options for those who have it already. If you opt National, you will have some other classes to take besides the science classes before starting nursing school. So, do not worry, you will be busy!

It's true, I think my chances would be better graduating from National.

Is it easy to get financial aid? Because I couldn't possibly pay $2,000 for each class.

Sorry If I'm asking too many questions :)

Up to now I have used money from the military. But, it is almost gone! I am trying to figure out what financial aid or grants/scholarships I can apply for. I will keep you updated on that.

Please, ask how many questions you want. I will help you as much as I can :)

Have a great weekend!
