I just found out I passed the boards on Friday the 13th! My state currently requires 3 hours of CE for child abuse, which I completed, but it isn't showing up. There wasn't a place for me to 'submit' my certificate on my state website. Is this another waiting game? Will all CE's, now and in the future, be submitted on my behalf to the state (as they asked me for my full name and last 4 SSN)? I live in PA and I'm eager to get started as soon as possible!

I'm not sure how the child abuse requirement works since I have yet to renew my license since it's become a requirement. How CEs have worked in the past is that there was a checkbox for yes or no when asked about completing the CEs when filling out the renewal application. No requirement to send in the certificates, nor was there a requirement for the providers to send in the certificates on my behalf. However, there is always the chance of being audited to verify completion of CEs, so I keep both a digital and a physical copy of all certificates.

In PA, a nurse does not submit completed CE to the state nor enter into a website. I just keep a folder with all my Continuing Education certificates along with using our hospitals 2 web based CE providers: Nurse.com and Medscape Today--both keep listing of CE courses taken + certificates that I can printout as needed.
