So the DON is telling me if a resident has BPH then I should automatically check off obstructive uropathy. I tried to explain I can't check it off unless the MD documented that the resident has obstructive uropathy. What are your thoughts ?

Talino 1,010 Posts Specializes in ER CCU MICU SICU LTC/SNF. Oct 17, 2019 Obstructive uropathy is a more serious or advanced condition than BPH. Let DON know you'll ask MD's opinion. Maybe he'll order some tests or ultrasound to determine gravity. Unless MD diagnoses it, you are correct not to.
