Dec 2nd wonder if the rates change will they have it in person still

When you guys did the payment for HESI2? I just did mine today.

@NCCN I don't think it will change at this point we are one week away from the exam. Unless if a lockdown suddenly takes place which I doubt that would happen right the way.

@Venu05 I paid on October 13th the day that I submitted my nursing application.

Oh wow. I submitted my application last 9/01/2020. Ms. Yvonne told me she will email me. I just opened my email and saw her instructions that se sent last 11/16/2020. I think I’m still good because it says “payment end date: 12/4/2020”

@Venu05 just make sure you got your HESI date exam already.

Who’s applying for evening/weekend class? Did you guys submitted your letter from your job stating that you are full-time? I’m a first timer applicant.

Who’s giving the date for the exam?

I paid 2 weeks ago . Things changing so rapidly and with out notice who knows !
Did you all apply anywhere else ? I did not - am starting to look at La Guardia and Bronx to do the BSN in tandem but you need to be enrolled

Did u get your test location ? Or further instructions on where to go etc ?

Yes I got my test on dec 30. Just to make sure we do not need to study grammar for BMCC right? We only need reading.

@son Is your exam date December 30th? Only reading

Hi everyone, just joining in. I took my HESI today. I found it waay easier than TEAS which I took in September for another school.

Does anyone know how they factor in the critical thinking portion into their deciding who gets in and who doesn't?

I heard from someone else its just a tie breaker and not that important for getting into the program itself but am seeking clarification.

I know the higher you score the better but does BMCC have like a cutoff acceptance score for this section? I can't find info aanywhere about this.

@jss1985 Hi there! I am so glad to hear that you had your exam today. I have taken TEAS before and I am hoping HESI will be better.

As far as I know you would need to score at least 73% from what I recall she said that on the zoom meeting back in October I believe. She expect at least 73% overall to be considered into nursing but not necessarily a score that would let you since all depends on other students score.

I would think that critical thinking is just important as A&P since we are going to use a lot throughout the nursing school.

If you don't mind can you share about your HESI? I am taking mine tomorrow and my anxiety is over the roof.

I personally found it easier and less stressful. I scored 87.33% overall, but its only based on A&P, math, and reading. The critical thinking I got was 790 and wasn't included in the overall score.

What I mean to say is I heard the critical thinking test is crucial while you're "in the program" but not to "get in"... But again I need clarification. The 73% minimum is based off of the math, reading and A&P sections and not critical thinking.

My GPA for the PCI courses is 4.0 which, combined with my HESI, brings me to 93.66% PCI, which I feel very good about.

But what im unsure about is my critical thinking score and how that will be factored in. I don't know if theres a cutoff, if I scored high enough in BMCC's eyes or what.

Theres no real way to study for that section being that its not even in any of the HESI guides. I practiced a little bit with some nursing fundamental Qs on quizlet.
