Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hey there, i was just wondering if anyone is planning on apply to the bmcc nursing for spring of 2019.

Im thinking of applying for Swedish institute versus CUNY the process is taking too long. I just went on their site and you have to take a&p2 before even applying to the program? I thought you just needed the 4 prerequisite. Has anyone heard anything about Swedish institute?

I am 3.94 in both, so Im happy and hopefull! but... a lot of people have a good gpa and a lot of people apply...

Congrats on finishing all! I take mine tomorrow. Do they let you bring a calculator? and is the Math like what we did in MAT 104? Like do we need to know the conversions for liters, teaspoons, etc?

Thought I was the only one who found writing hard! where did they get those passages?

jeez..lol

Reading part was ok for me, reading the text and recognizing main ideas, themes, but writing part was really hard and I wish everybody whose not fresh outta high school a lot of luck lol

There were 3 questions straight out of math 104,all about minutes and mL, No teaspoon, the rest are percentages, conversions, decimals, few algebra. math is the easiest on kaplan IMO. You use the calculator on the desktop. one person in my group was allowed to use the calculator she brought because the calculator on her desktops not working.

I got an email today from the advisor saying that she will email those who passed and are accepted and also email those who were not accepted but she will not contact those who failed.i think an email is better than a phone call.

Hi there,

The new advisor said she doesnt see a call as an good way to let people know and that shes "probably" going to email people.

I have taken an exam today as well and had 80 %

Now does anyone know how much % is pre-req, Overall and kaplan? I would say 30%, 30 % and 40 but not sure!

Best of luck

Thanks!!

They call if you get in the first week of January. Yvonne e-mailed the students that. If you don't get in it's an e-mail or letter sent to you. But I'm pretty sure you did get in. I got a 70% and have a 3.8 GPA. I hope that gets me through because it was my second time taking it as well. Good luck to you!

Hi BMCC '19 hopefuls, I took the Kaplan this morning, I got 82% and my GPA is 3.8, this was my second time taking it. I hope i get into the program. Am just wondering if we will receive phone calls, letters or emails to know if we got in the program or not.

Good luck! Quick question- did you get the same questions the second time you took the test?

Yes! I was surprised. I just feel like I let myself down with how I performed on the test. My reading was high the first time and I did worse this time! I don't know if my nerves got to me, but now I just hope I get in.

Sooo there are 81 seats... I'm dying to know about many people too the exam. I would like to know my chances.

There are only 4 test sessions. So I would assume a little over 100 people take the exam. Ah this wait is going to eat me everyday!

I took my Kaplan test today for the afternoon session. Anyone have to deal with our proctor being late? One student kind of got our class panicked and called the nursing department and some person there told us our test was actually in the main building. Only to get there and they told us to go back to Fitterman where the proctor showed up @ like 1:20. Many of us didn't start our exams until like 45 mins in. There wasn't even enough seats/computers for a few students. Just a mess.

Anyway, I got an 85% over all. Did pretty well in the first 3 sections R: 95, M:93 W:86 and straight bombed the science with a 60 LOL I really hope that each section doesn't have to be over a 65 cause then I'm screwed. I was SO hungry and tired after getting their early and running back and forth between test buildings that I totally rushed it at the end. Could have done better. The math was also wayyy easier than I imagined. Writing was very different than what the Kaplan prep book was testing in.
