Hi everyone! I'm brand new on this board, as I am currently in the process of registering at BMCC in Manhattan to take my prerequisite courses. I am hoping to apply to the Lehman (& maybe Hunter) accelerated program after my pre-reqs are completed. My question is:
I have to take a course that Lehman calls 'Essentials of General Chemistry' but BMCC offers multiple Chem courses (Chem, Foundations of Chem, College Chem...) and I was wondering if anyone else has done their pre-reqs for Lehman at BMCC, and could point me in the right direction as to which Chem course to register for that will transfer over properly. I have tried to get in touch with Lehman, but it's the holidays, blah blah blah... :)
I am really hoping to do direct admission and begin my courses this Spring (soon, I know) so I am just trying to get all my ducks in a row as quickly and efficiently as possible. I am also welcoming of any advice from BMCC folks who are currently taking their pre-reqs, and anyone who has transferred to Lehman or Hunter. Thanks!
So happy to be a part of this board & excited to begin my journey on my way to becoming a nurse!

Currently doing pre-reqs at BMCC, and the class that you need is CHE121. You can always go to the CUNY TIPPS website to confirm that your chem class will transfer to Lehman (it will transfer to Hunter).
Thanks for clearing that up! It is a confusing process. I noticed that BMCC is not offering that or a&p 1 this spring. Are there any pre reqs for Lehman that I am able to take in the spring at BMCC? I really don't want to wait
The pre-req classes fill up rather quickly so the only advice I can give you would be to place yourself on the waitlist. You'd be surprised how many people don't pay in time and get dropped from the class.
From what I remember, the main classes at BMCC are (prereqs for night program marked with *):
*BIO425 (ap1)
*BIO426 (ap2)
*BIO420 (micro)
CHE121 (if you're not articulated, you can take this class with BIO425)
*MAT104
*PSY100
*PSY240 or SOC100
*ENG101
ENG201
SPE100 (speech)
For the day program, you just need MAT104, PSY100, BIO425 and ENG101.
Compare these classes on TIPPS with the classes you want to take at Lehman. I know for a fact that they all transfer to Hunter.
Good luck.

if a student has a c+ in chem 121 will that disqualify a person from applying to the nursing program
