Hello,
I am taking prerequisites at BMCC. I just finished Chemistry with C. I know Che121 is not one of prerequisites for nursing program but it will bring my GPA down. Should I retake it? Did any of you get in with C in Chemistry? Thank you.

Why did you take it in the first place, if the course is not a pre-req?
I do not think you should retake it. However, check if the school will only calculate the pre-req GPA. If that is the case, then do not worry about chemistry. If they do, then, I guess you should retake it. Trust me, you will have to take it at some point in the future when you do your BSN.

CHE 121 might as well be a prereq because it unlocks BIO 425. I tried taking it as a hybrid course but withdrew (I was doing horribly)and took it over the summer for an A. I'm heading into my third semester in the nursing program. If you want to share your other prereq grades/GPA I'd be happy to help you figure out if you're still competitive, but I don't know if the school will let you retake the class since you got a C.
I did take:
Eng 101- B+
Eng 201- A
Mat 104- A
Psy 100- A
Che121- C
I will take Bio 425 over this summer and Bio 426, Psy 240 and Spe100 -Fall 2018.
Looks good! I had the exact same grades in the first four classes you listed. I think you are definitely still competitive in that respect. I also know someone who got a C in Bio 425 and still got into the program, so one C doesn't kill your chances. Just knock it out of the park with the remaining classes (particularly BIO 426 because the entire science portion on the Kaplan comes from that) and make sure you do well on the entrance exam. You can do it!
Thank you so much. Can you recommend good professor for bio 425 and bio 426?
Absolutely; just send me a PM though because we're not supposed to post professor's names on here.

My nursing program requires a 2.7 overall
GPA as well as a 2.7 science GPA. Also
a D is considered failing. As long as you are
making A's and B's to counter that than you
should be fine. It is also worth noting that
my academic advisor told me that if you make
a C in that class, take it and run with it. I ended up with a B. Plus my instructor just posted the slides online and we had to teach ourselves because the Nursing department wanted that class to be taught online.

Chem 121 is a required course for nursing. It states it on the nursing program requirements for AP.

It is a prerequisite for nursing at bmcc I sawan advisor a month ago and suggested that class I'm taking it this fall
It's not. You have to take it in order to take AP1 but it is not one of the prerequisites for nursing program.
