My facility for seniors is considering a "drive-thru" B/P clinic. We're wondering how we would keep the cuff clean between clients. We don't have disposables. Figured if anyone might know it would definitely be a home health nurse. Ideas? Suggestions?
P.S.: also, part of the reason we're thinking of this is simply to get people out of the house a bit. Other senior friendly and safe ideas welcomed!!

My provider uses disposable sleeves. Essentially a tube with elastic at both ends pulled up over the arm, clothing and all. Made of the same paper-like material as baby wipes and the like.

I was thinking of sliding a double open-ended grocery plastic bag over the arm and then place your BP cuff like normal. Cheap, easily avail and easily disposable. Kind of like what PP heron suggested, but my idea reuses those dang store bags (hey, ecology award here for me!).
I told my supervisor the home health crew wouId have solutions and I was right! Before I say anything else, let me say this. In my almost 40 years of nursing in different areas (including a short stent in HH where I was completely unsuccessful!), I've found HH nurses to be the most amazingly resourceful and creative group of nurses I've ever known. They don't always get great press. They should.
Now...heron, I had no idea those types of barrier cuffs existed. I was able to find several companies on Google I can order from and very reasonably priced. I also like your idea, amoLucia. I'm thinking we could tell them to bring their own grocery bag and that might make them feel even more comfortable. Many thanks to both of you.
