Hi,
I am taking the intensive course for Biology 203 this January. It's running for 6 weeks and I need all the advice I can get. If anyone can give me some advice that would be great. How should i go about preparing and what's the textbook they're currently using now?
Thanks!

What is Bio 203? Is it general bio, micro, anatomy, or something completely different? You can probably get general advice on how to survive the class if we know what it is :)
As far as a book, look and see what the current semester is using. In my experience, books rarely change mid year.
Yea I actually looked up the books they are using for the semester but i'm not sure which Edition they are using. The particular author for the book have so many other textbooks with similar titles...
Yea 203 is my like anatomy physiology i think... general bio is more I think the BIO 101.
Do you attend LGA? I definitely would need some info on the class b/c i want to get started early before the course starts... just to get ahead of time b/c i'm a little shaky with BIo.
No, I'm not at Laguardia. I have, however, taken A&P 1 and 2. They aren't easy classes. I think there's a sticky in the prenursing help forum for Anatomy questions to give you an idea of what questions you may encounter.
You might want to think about picking up the textbook early. You could go to the bookstore and see what edition it is; grab the ISBN number if you can because it'll make it much easier to search for the book online that way.
I've also found the Anatomy for Dummies book to be helpful as I'm reviewing my A&P for an upcoming entrance exam; it might help you out.
If nothing else, review cell structure and organelles and active/passive transport. That's what you'll start A&P with and it's important to have a good grasp on it for more complicated concepts.
You may also want to repost on the New York board (I'm assuming that's where you live?). I found a lot of great information on local schools on the Texas board.
YEa I think i might just go and do that. I'll probably just buy the dummy book too.. How do you post this on the New York Board.. I don't see that so that's why I didn't do it.
Thanks for all the help and advice.
I"m sorry ok.. i just posted the blog in the NY forum.. thanks!
