Should I risk taking basic biology and basic chemistry together?!

When I first started uni as an undecided science major, I took science-major bio and chem at the same time, and passed both. Not with a stellar grade in either, but it was also my first semester of uni after breezing through school my whole life, and I never learned to study. When I started back at school a year ago for my BSN, I took anatomy and basic chem at the same time, and it was easy enough. Basic chem is a breeze compared to the science-major class--at least at my university.
I think if you did well in your high school science classes, it shouldn't be a problem taking them together. If you've had trouble with sciences in the past, it might be a better idea to spread those classes out.
Good luck!

Depends how hard you want to work and what else you're taking. My first degree was in biochemistry and in my program we couldn't start biology until we had done a year of general chemistry. I'm not sure what your "basic" bio and chem will really cover. Use the Khan Academy youtube lectures. They aren't all that exciting but they are very good.

I would. I was going to a year ago, except the Chemistry sections were all filled up at my school. Basic biology and basic chemistry are general classes with a lot of different topics so they are not as challenging as taking microbiology and anatomy together (which I would never recommend).

This. It's really very dependent on what else your taking, whether you're also working, and how much time you have to devote to studying. I took Chemistry and Advanced Physiology last semester while also taking nursing courses for a total of 14 credit hours. It wasn't easy since I also have two children but I wasn't working so that helped. I was able to get A's in both and was happy I took them and got them out of the way.
