Summer is only 10 weeks and it would more than likely be the only class I'd be taking, is it a good idea to take it in Summer? It means being able to take A&P I that much quicker, and getting done with prerequisites that much quicker, so I'm considering it, but don't want to sabotage my GPA for admission requirements either.

If you feel you are good with time management and willing to do a lot in little time then yes it is doable and a good idea. Are you pretty good at sciences? Are you working full-time? I did A & P 1 in a accelerated pace and I hated it, but that's just me. Good luck with your decision!

Honestly, it could depend on your instructor. If you have access to the list of teachers for that class, check their ratings on ratemyprofessor.com and see what previous students say about the teaching style, if the teacher made lecture and lab dvds, which my prospective a and p teacher does, and copy their names onto a word doc. Once you have your list of the pick of the litter, register for that class asap. I am staying up until midnight of the night that new student registration is available and getting my spot. And the saddest part is, the class has a 50% drop rate. I am doing mine this summer at GTC, GA. Good luck! I am told it is the most difficult class of the sciences simply due to the fact that most people never attempt a class similar to it in high school to prepare for so much to memorize. You can do it. Plenty of others in this site did and worked full time and had families. God Bless!

I think it would be okay to take Bio 111 during the summer. It is just a lot of memorization, so I suggest a lot of note cards. I bought the book Biology for Dummies, and it explained some of the concepts more clearly than my textbook. I did not find this class that hard. Good luck!
